PASTOR CHRIS COWEN:

Pastor Chris Cowen might be new to Russellville but he is not new to the ministry both domestic and abroad. Over the last 24 years Pastor Chris has enjoyed a wide array of ministry experiences such as planting churches, starting a Bible College, establishing missionary outreaches to both Honduras and Haiti as well as serving as a chaplain in both police and fire departments in south Florida.

Born in Rio De Janerio, Brazil to American parents, Pastor Chris grew up in south Florida went on to enjoy a football scholarship as a quarterback to the University of South Carolina. Realizing his preparation for the ministry was being squeezed, he transferred to Wofford College where he completed his football career and then complete his B.A. degree in Philosophy. He then went on to complete a three year Masters Degree in Theology from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts.

Pastor Chris is married to Laurel and they have two children, Brett and Necole. Brett is married and a practicing medical doctor in Seattle, Washington. Necole is also married to a doctor and living in London, England.

WAYNE & JENNIFER CATES:


We married in 1999 and shortly after moved to Tulsa, OK to attend Victory Bible Institute. From 1999 - 2001 while attending VBI, we also became involved in Bus Ministry ministering to Tulsa's inner city kids and families. After graduating from VBI we moved back to our hometown of Russelville, Ky to get involved with a childrens ministry in a neighboring city. There we also started a bus ministry and kids club truck ministry. We also started a family, David was born in 2002 and Andrew followed in 2005. Then in 2006 we felt God drawing us to Crossroads Church to start a Childrens Ministry. We also continued with Kids Club Truck - taking Childrens Church to the streets of Russellville. Since starting in 2006  the Childrens Ministry has grown to include over 30 leaders and volunteers, we have seen children grow up through the childrens ministry over the past four years and become childrens leaders within Crossroads. We offer a safe and growing experience for Nursery age to 6th grade.  Then in summer of 2009 we added youth directors to our bio!! Making Crossroads Youth Group an environment where all youth feel welcomed and can grow in the Word of God.
